SAINT-LAURENT, QC – Air Canada responded to a video of its passengers’ carry-on bags being tossed off the end of a jetway by admitting on Tuesday that they had dropped the bag on luggage handling.
“We have treated our customers’ trust like a laptop and smashed it to smithereens,” confessed Calin Rovinescu, the airline’s CEO.
“There is nothing more important in our industry than trust,” Rovinescu continued, “and I worry this incident will cause passengers confidence to dry up like an economy class cookie.”
“We know Canadians can choose between Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, Air Canada Tango, Air Canada Jazz when travelling and we just hope this incident doesn’t turn them off Air Canada.”
This is not the first time Air Canada has come under fire for its baggage handling. Last year, after a passenger’s dog was lost and eventually found dead, Rovinescu was forced to admit that his baggage handlers had “made a dog’s breakfast.”
